Information sessions for employers and workers in community services, contract cleaning and security about Victoria's new portable long service scheme.
The Portable Long Service Leave Scheme was introduced for Victorians who work in contract cleaning, security and community services industries.
Previously workers in these industries could work for the same job, in the same place and never qualify for long service leave.
Since the introduction of the Long Service Benefits Portability Act on 1 July 2019 workers will now be entitled to long service leave or benefits after working for seven years in their industry, irrespective of how many employers they have worked for over that time.
Employers in these industries must register online by 30 September and will also be able to lodge their quarterly returns via the online portal from October 2019.
