The Minister for Agriculture announced stage one grants, the Artisanal Sector Roadmap, and the launch of an online portal for artisan producers.

Key elements for the delivery of the Artisanal Agriculture and Premium Food program:

  1. Stage one grants are open now until 31 January 2019

Stage one grants support artisan producers to improve productivity or grow their business through small-scale investments in equipment, skills, and services Program guidelines and an infographic for stage one grants are attached More information can be found online through the grants link at artisanal sector portal at www.agriculture.vic.gov.au/artisanag 

  1. Stage two grants will open for applications in the first half of 2019

Stage two grants will support larger-scale projects that may involve individual businesses or community-based initiatives for the sector They are currently seeking expressions of interest for stage two grants - more information can be found on the website

  1. Artisanal Sector Roadmap

The Roadmap provides a framework for a state-wide approach to collectively support and grow Victoria's artisanal sector It provides a definition for the artisanal sector in Victoria, a vision for the sector, and identifies 4 key actions to support sector growth:

  1. Promoting the sector's vibrant diversity
  2. Building sector capabilities
  3. Facilitating access to government services and support
  4. Supporting sector-led development
  5. Artisanal sector portal

    The portal is the first activity under action 3 of the Roadmap. It provides a single point of contact for artisan producers to navigate regulatory requirements and access government information, services and biosecurity and support The portal is now open, and its development will be continued in consultation with the artisanal sector Visitors to the portal can provide feedback on what other information and links they'd like to see on the portal as it grows (link to provide feedback is in the portal)
