Greater Shepparton City Council voted last night to endorse the proposed Maude St Redevelopment concept.

The redevelopment, which includes relocating and improving the bus interchange area, forms stage two of the broader Vaughan Street Precinct redevelopment.

The proposal will now be released for public consultation, and further information will be issued about information and feedback sessions in the next week.

The April Council meeting was held in Mooroopna, at the Mooroopna Hub.

In other business, Council:

  • Approved funding for the Mooroopna Football Netball Club and Dhurringile Tennis Club, who will both received $15,000 each for upgrading their facilities, out of Council’s Our Sporting Future Funding Program.
  • Agreed to sell part of Council’s property at 90 McFarlane Road, Mooroopna, to the Mooroopna Golf Club, for $75,000 plus GST, subject to public submissions.
  • Reiterated its opposition to planning applications regarding a proposed broiler farm at Murchison, and 25 Prentice Road, Shepparton East.
  • Voted to adopt and sign the Councillor Code of Conduct.
