Given the number of vacant retail space currently on offer in and around the Shepparton CBD, it is encouraging to see a number of landlords introducing initiatives to support new business opportunities.

Council's Team Leader Business and Industry Geoff Hay has recently spoken to local real estate agents about some of these initiatives and what some landlords are trying to achieve.

"It is really exciting to hear what some landlords are offering to do to help stimulate interest in their vacant shops and create new opportunities for potential tenants", Mr Hay said.

"Clearly it is in the best interest of landlords to have their shops filled and some of the incentives being offered present some real opportunities for people looking to establish, or relocate, their business in Shepparton."

Some of these incentives include reduced rental costs and rent-free periods.

"One excellent example I have recently been made aware of one is where the landlord is offering a three-year lease where the first year is rent-free," Mr Hay said.

"This offers tremendous value and a clear commitment by the landlord to provide what is an excellent incentive for a potential tenant."

Anyone interested in seeking more information on commercial availability is encouraged to contact Geoff Hay on 58329 846. Mr Hay will then put the inquirer in contact with the relevant real estate agency.
