Greater Shepparton Business Centre tenants were fortunate to share some one-on-one time with champion wheel chair athlete Kurt Fearnley last month.
Kurt was in Greater Shepparton as guest speaker at the August GV BRaIN dinner.
Kurt was invited to the Business Centre by Brian and Judy Black from Fox Personnel. This local recruitment company started their business, with the support of the Business Centre, more than 12 years ago.
Judy and Brian thought it would be a great opportunity for the tenants to gain some insight into both the struggles and achievements of Kurt's life.
His willingness to talk informally with guests was much appreciated. It was useful to hear the analogies he drew between the ups and downs small businesses face and his own experiences of times when he doubted his abilities. In particular, he talked about the importance of drawing on advice from coaches and mentors to help stay focussed and continue to strive for success.
