The program aims to encourage cooperation between farmers and value chain members to create critical mass and increase their collective capability to generate better access to markets and customers. Cooperative groups are often formed to deal with situations such as needing to assemble sufficient volume of product to meet marketers requirements, rationalise facilities, reduce overhead costs, or to access discounted supplies by purchasing in bulk.


Grants of up to $15,000 are provide for each approved activity on a 50:50 cost-share basis. A maximum of $50,000 is available for each collaborative group:

  • Business plans and feasibility studies 
  •  Legal costs including incorporation contacts and shareholder agreements.
  • Business and technical advice such as business health checks, systems advice, technical market advice, capability and asset audits, financial planning and management or intellectual property advice. 
  • Market research and intelligence including development of marketing plans, market surveys, attendance at trade shows and marketing events
  • Capability development and training of members and/or staff in business management, corporate governance, marketing principles and export procedures and practice.
