Promote your business as a Breastfeeding Friendly Location. ‘The Breastfeeding Friendly Locations Map’ was initially developed in 2004 as one of a number of actions to make Greater Shepparton a more breastfeeding friendly and family friendly community. A review of friendly locations is currently being undertaken, and we invite your business to be included!

Positive feedback received indicates that mothers have found the map to be very valuable, as finding somewhere to feed comfortably can be difficult. Now, as we move into 2013 we plan to move with technology and develop a mobile website displaying the Breastfeeding Friendly Locations within Greater Shepparton.

Greater Shepparton City Council has made a commitment to fund the ongoing community awareness of Breastfeeding Friendly Locations. If your business meets the following four requirements for being a ‘breastfeeding friendly location' as set out by the Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA), then we would like to include you!

  • A welcoming attitude from staff and management
  • A smoke free environment
  • Room to move a pram
  • That the ABA ‘Breastfeeding Welcome Here" sticker is/be clearly displayed.

Please contact Kristie Welch, Breastfeeding Project Officer at Greater Shepparton City Council to be included on our database for future information about this exciting development.

If you are already a Breastfeeding Friendly Location, there is no need to call, we will contact you!
