Australia’s small businesses can unlock the potential of technology to revolutionise their business and extend their reach. When small businesses are digitally engaged, they are 50 per cent more likely to be growing revenue, eight times more likely to be creating jobs, seven times more likely to be exporting, and 14 times more likely to be innovating new products or services.
Applications are now open to be one of 100 Australian small business owners who will receive a digital transformation for their business, valued at up to $20,000.
15 of the 100 businesses will then be selected to become Digital Champions, each paired with a high-profile small business leader who has leveraged technology for business success. This innovator will provide individualised advice and guide them on their digital transformation journey. The journeys of the Digital Champions will be featured in online, interactive case studies that will provide the small business community with real-life insights into the business benefits of adopting digital technology.
We are looking to select a wide range of Australian businesses to become one of the 100 small businesses to receive a digital transformation. We want to showcase how diverse small businesses are in Australia and how embracing digital technology can help improve any type of business. With this in mind, consideration will be given to:
- digital maturity of a business
- life cycle of a business
- rural, regional and metropolitan businesses
- number of employees or sole traders
- industry types
- gender, ages and cultural backgrounds of business owners, and
- Indigenous businesses.
If applying for the Small Business Digital Champions Project is not for you, the Government provides digital technology support for small businesses through the Australian Small Advisory Service and the Cyber Security Small Business Grants Program.
Expressions of interest to become a Digital Mentor, an industry association Trusted Digital Advisor or to become a Corporate Partner are still open.
