Greater Shepparton City Council, in partnership with the Department of State Development and Business Innovation (DSDBI) and Goulburn Valley Community Energy are hosting an information session on Monday 29 April on energy efficiency in the home.
Information will be provided about smart meters, which are currently being installed to homes in Greater Shepparton as well as tips to make your home more energy efficient.
Greater Shepparton Mayor Jenny Houlihan encouraged residents to attend the session.
"With the rising costs involved with energy consumption, it is important people take advantage of any means available to save money." Cr Houlihan said.
A representative from the DSDBI will provide information on:
- How smart meters work and how they can help you minimise your electricity bill
- The new flexible pricing that will be implemented in the latter part of 2013
- How to compare the new flexible pricing with flat tariffs
- Why it's being introduced and what it means to you
The session is on Monday 29 April from 5.30pm at the North Shepparton Community Learning Centre.
