Greater Shepparton will be attending Victoria’s first ever Regional Living Expo to be held in Melbourne in April 2012

Council's Team Leader Business and Industry Geoff Hay said the expo would be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 to 29 April and would highlight the many benefits of living in regional and rural Victoria, including the Shepparton region.

"The Economic Development team is thrilled that we will be able to show case our region to Melburnians highlighting the great lifestyle we have, as well as the many investment opportunities available here," he said.

"Everything from careers to education, housing, businesses, sport and lifestyle along with relocation services will be on display with informed representatives from Council's Economic Development team."

Council Small Business Development Officer Lonnie O'Dwyer said she was looking forward to the event.

"As I have recently moved back to our region I can see the plethora of lifestyle options here and will be able to share that with potential residents is a rare occurrence," she said.

"Shepparton is rapidly expanding and being only two hours from Melbourne is a huge draw card."

The expo will target those interested in making the tree change by featuring up to 130 exhibitors who are ready and willing to discuss any queries about moving to our region.

With regional populations expected to double by 2056 Council's Economic Development team, along with Regional Development Victoria, will be also aiming to attract skilled people to the area. Other shires will be represented to ensure a diverse range of lifestyles are on offer.
