Their passionate team have recently taken over the business and they injected their love of regional, fresh produce, locally grown food and wine. Walking through the store it becomes evident that the business has capitalised on the recent craze of “Locally Grown”.

The locally grown niche market has being growing steadily over the last couple of years and researcher Mary Hendrickson University Professor representing the University of Maryland has answered some questions about this trend in buying and eating local foods.
  • 1. Is it important for people to know where food comes from?
With environmental concerns becoming the forefront of people's conscience, we are focusing on the habit that exists around them. Food is an absolute need for human beings and there is also a social element to eating food. This has resulted in people wanting to know where the food came from.
  • 2. Should Restaurants use locally grown food when it is available?
This is totally reliant on the business plan, as chefs enjoy being creative they generally enjoy working with the best fresh and seasonal ingredients. Furthermore it allows business to establish relationships and demand the best from the suppliers. In turn this allows the business to be more competitive against major franchises.

Some of the brands that Lloyds typically stock are the following and are  produced within a 200 Kilometre radius.
- GV Co Operative Products
- Wholly Granoly
