Greater Shepparton City Council and Shepparton Show Me are holding a number of events throughout the twig light season. One of those events was Twilight Fishing held at Victoria Park Lake. It was free entry, and there were fun activities for all.

Marketing and Promotions Team Leader David Wilson was thrilled with the attendance with over 1400 people gathering to take part in the event.

"Council has worked tirelessly to upgrade and implement the lake facilities and the feedback from the public has been so positive we wanted to focus on some family fun activates that involve the enjoyment the atmosphere the lake offers. The weather was perfect on dusk and the event was very well received, it really gave families a chance to spend quality time together."

The event was held on the 16 and 23 February from 6pm - 8.30 pm on the eastern side of Victoria Park Lake. There were kayaks and boats on display and a fish filleting demonstration of large Salmon which was a highlight for most people.

Some red fin and yellow belly were on the bite and manage to attract 1400 people to the first night and a further 2500 people on thee Thursday night. Families were invited to pack a picnic basket for a relaxing evening by the lake.
