Following a phenomenal response to the Council Plan survey, Greater Shepparton City Council is holding a free community party to say thank you, to everyone who got involved.

More than 2400 surveys were received from the community during the two month consultation in July and August 2012.

Greater Shepparton Mayor Jenny Houlihan said the response from the community had been outstanding.

"The community has been very receptive to this process and the green shirts worn by our champions have become very well known," Cr Houlihan said.

"We received some fantastic ideas and feedback from the community and I thank everyone who took the time to fill out a survey or just told us their ideas.

"The data received has been collated and key themes identified and will be available for all to see. If you cannot attend the party, the data will be available on our website, or contact us and we can mail a copy to you from 7 December.

"This is our way of saying thank you to all those people who took the time to make submissions and help us make a Greater Shepparton.

"I encourage everyone to come down to the Mall on Friday from 4pm-6pm and enjoy the celebrations. There will be entertainment provided by local young people, a ‘Thanks' cake and of course, our Council Plan Champions in their green shirts who will be available to talk to the community about the themes identified during this initial process."

The data will now be presented to the Councillors to help inform further discussion with the community in early 2013 to shape the next four-year Council Plan.
