Starting out in business can be an overwhelming experience. There's so much information available, and so many people willing to give their opinions and advice. But how do you know who's right, and more importantly, who's got the right advice for your business?

The Greater Shepparton Business Centre is hosting a seminar designed to assist people who are starting their own businesses.

Greater Shepparton Business Centre Small Business Development Officer Lonnie O'Dwyer said people attending the workshop will gain an understanding of the key success factors involved in starting a business, how to create a business, and how to access information and assistance.

"Starting your own business is exciting but has its challenges and knowing how to take the first step is vital for a successful outcome," said Ms O'Dwyer.

"Our region is full of people with great business ideas and initiatives and the workshop can turn those ideas and dreams into reality."

One of the biggest advantages of holding the seminar at the Business Centre is being able to speak directly to staff attending the workshop on the evening.

Having previously owned her own business of five years, Ms O'Dwyer understands the hurdles people may face along with the highs and lows of owning a small business.

"I will be available on the night to answer questions people may have regarding the Business Centre, and to encourage attendees to take advantage of our small business mentoring program," said Ms O'Dwyer.

"I hope people take advantage of this opportunity to not only attend the workshop, but also see how we can help them start and grow their own business."

The seminar is on Wednesday 23 March from 6.00pm - 9.30pm. The course costs $30.00. Bookings are essential.
