The small business training program offered by The Greater Shepparton Business Centre returns for 2011 with topical and informative seminars aimed at new and existing small businesses.

Commencing Wednesday 23 February, business owners can find out what goes on behind the closed doors of banks and how they make their lending decisions by attending the first practical seminar "What Bankers Want".

Acting Greater Shepparton Business Centre Coordinator Jo Rathjen says this seminar would benefit those wishing to expand their business but who are unsure about applying for finance.

"When to switch banks and how to approach your bank when difficulties arise is another topic that will be covered," Ms Rathjen said

"Businesses will learn how to take the stress out of dealing with your bank by creating a better relationship with the bank, understanding what essential information is required for a successful loan application, and knowing what to include in a loan application and what to leave out.

"Being prepared by putting together a loan application package will make your bank's job easier."

As a special offer to Goulburn Valley small businesses owners, people attending will receive a free business mentoring session, which gives you expert advice tailored to the needs of your business from one of our small business specialists.

Presented by Julie Guest, a chartered accountant with over 20 years experience as a partner in a public accounting practice, she now specialises in teaching people business skills, both strategically and operationally.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday 23 February from 6.00pm to 8.00pm at the Greater Shepparton Business Centre, 70 New Dookie Road Shepparton.

To book your place please call the Greater Shepparton Business Centre on

Greater Shepparton Business Centre is funded and operated by Greater Shepparton City Council.
