There are more than 2000 parking spaces in the CBD, nearly half of which are free or unrestricted.

Council is aware of the importance of parking accessibility for CBD businesses and by working with business owners, is keen to help promote the CBD and positive messages about parking.
For example, there are a number of conveniently located off-street car parks available in the following locations:

• corner of Maude and Nixon Sts (30 spaces - 21% utilisation)
• the adjoining Edward St car park (40 spaces - 36% utilisation)
• corner of Vaughan and Corio Sts (behind Sportsman's Warehouse) (140 spaces - 53% utilisation) (FREE)
• K-Mart car park off Vaughan St (253 spaces - 71% utilisation) (FREE)
• corner Maude and Vaughan Sts (next to Chemist Warehouse) (248 spaces - 86% utilisation) (FREE)
That's more than 150 vacant parking spaces on average between these off-street car parks alone.
Parking tickets purchased at any of the Council-operated on and off-street ticket machines can now be used in any regular on-street car park and Council-operated car parking facility throughout the CBD (remember - time limits still apply and the multi-deck car park is excluded).
It's also worth reminding customers about the privately owned multi-deck car park which is undercover, centrally located and has spaces for more than 300 cars. This facility has been fitted with CCTV cameras for improved security.
Council is currently working on an updated parking location map, additional signage for off street car parking and a CBD parking strategy - visit www.greatershepparton.com.au for more information.
