Kaiela Arts are running a crowd funding campaign for their project to create a Design Roots 2 textile range of homewares that speak of Kaiela Dungula (Goulburn Murray) Country.

In the Design Roots 2 project  Kaiela Arts artists will feature designs that respond to the Victoria Park Lake environment – Flora and Fauna.

This location is important because it is the site for the new SAM and in 2020 Kaiela Arts will be moving there!  The Aboriginal people wish to validate their deep connection to the land prior to the building being built.  Kaiela artists are responding to the flora and fauna of this area in a series of watercolour paintings that will be exhibited as Design Roots 2 - Lake.

Designs will be drawn from these paintings and developed into exciting contemporary screen printed fabric from which they will present the Design Roots 2 homewares collection.
