Businesses located through the Greater Shepparton area can be at risk of flooding.

Your business could be in an area at risk of:

  • riverine flooding and likely to have flood water enter or inundate
  • flash flooding and/or
  • be cut-off, isolated by flood waters in the surrounding area. Cut off from deliveries, customers or unable to do business because of damage to equipment or stock!

Floods can also be very dangerous to you, your staff, stock, equipment and they can also be costly. Some businesses never recover after floods, so you need to take floods seriously as large floods have happened within the area and will happen again.

SES, in partnership with the Federal Government's Natural Disaster Resilience Scheme and Greater Shepparton City Council, is currently working in your community to roll out FloodSafe information developed specifically for your area. This includes how your area could be affected, flood maps, what YOU can do to be properly prepared, save money and your business!

Business-specific flood information is available online and free workshops featuring information that will help you reduce the risks and damage will be held in the coming months. Please contact Renee Scott, Economic Development Flood Recovery Officer for Greater Shepparton City Council, on 03 5832 9896 for further information on the upcoming Business FloodSafe sessions, or visit Business Ready
