The Greater Shepparton City Council's Building and Planning Department have advised that planning permit numbers experienced an overall increase in 2012, despite low numbers being lodged in December.

Building and Planning figures are down in January so far. It is difficult to define the main reasons. It is likely that the holiday period is a main contributor to this trend .

In contrast general enquiries are still showing consistent activity levels therefore people are still considering undertaking projects.

In December 2012 eighty four (84) building permits were issued.

In December 2012 forty (40) planning permits were issued.

The number of planning permit applications approved also increased.
